Teachings of the Presidents of the Church: Joseph Fielding Smith

Teachings of the Presidents of the Church: Joseph Fielding Smith:

notes taken from my reading of this official church manual in the “Teachings of the Presidents of the Church” series. This manual is studied on a regular basis in LDS church meetings.

-Pray while at the job and you will probably do everything correctly.

-Asleep or in bed is where people die, and where ambition dies.

-He considered getting up past 6am immoral, and woke his children accordingly daily.

-Relief Society work is as important as Priesthood work.

-The Lord’s prayer is teaching us to pray for the end of the world. Join with me (Pres. Smith) in praying for this. See the prayer says “thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven”. That will be the beginning of a new world, and I want it. I pray for it to come, and ask you all to pray for it with me.

-Past 90 years old he still prayed for the strength to be able to keep his covenants and endure to the end.
